Brooklyn Players Community Theater, Urinetown 2011.

Max directed plays for Brooklyn Players Community Theater, started by Corinne Goodman.  The mission of the company is to create opportunities for actors, singers, and dancers who wish to challenge their talent, build up new abilities, and take a leap of faith.  The company goal is to give over to the exploration of the piece, learn from each other, and make a work of heart and quality.

The cast of Urinetown contained first time performers alongside BFA actors from top theater schools and seasoned performers with years of experience.  Into the Woods  was similarly diverse, casting actors with the intent to challenge their talent and bring out new elements to their performance abilities.

Urinetown was a tremendous success, not just because of the high quality of the show or its sold out run, but due to the positivity and investment of all involved.  Into the Woods raised the bar for the company and delivered a well crafted, well wrought piece of theater- connected, truthful, and well-paced.

Brooklyn Players Community Theater, Into the Woods 2012.Max also directs plays for the Brooklyn Players Summer Camp with company director Corinne Goodman.  The four week camp culminates in a one hour long version of a musical, featuring 25 or more young people age 8 to 14.  It is a camp designed to raise the bar for a better and better performance while fostering ensemble skills, respect, and personal growth.  Past shows Max has directed:  Zombie PromSeussical, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast.

Other projects Max has worked as director:  Greenbrier Valley Theatre Summer Camp's playwright showcase, Summer 2004, 2005, 2007.  Barestage Ferocious, Under St. Marks Theater, Summer 2003.
